Aakash Odedra is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and performer celebrated for bridging classical Indian dance and contemporary performance. As Artistic Director of the Aakash Odedra Company, he has created a powerful body of work that redefines Kathak through innovation, collaboration, and cross-cultural dialogue.

His debut solo Rising (2012)—with works by Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and Russell Maliphant—positioned him as one of the most original dance voices of his generation. Landmark productions such as Inked, Murmur, Samsara, and Songs of the Bulbul have since toured internationally to wide acclaim. #JeSuis (2017) won the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award, while Songs of the Bulbul received Best International Show at The List Festival Awards (2024).

In 2025, Odedra made history as the first non-ballet artist to win both Best Male Dancer and Outstanding Male Classical Performance at the UK National Dance Awards. A recipient of the British Empire Medal (BEM) and Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells, Aakash continues to expand the vocabulary of dance through storytelling that connects deeply across cultures and forms.
